Dalai Lama´s birthday

Dalai Lama´s birthday is a Tibetan budist celebration that takes place every year on the 15th of July (6th July before) and has been going for over 600 years.
Dalai Lama (Dalai means “ocean” and Lama means “guru”),is for budist the rebirth of the buda of compassion and is followed by all budists as the spiritual leader.
It takes place in every Tibetan budist monastery, and lots of monks take part in it.
All Tibetans dressed in their best ceremonial clothes go to the temple to pray and dance in the celebration.
People get together and monks start to play ancient music instruments at the same time as they are chanting some mantras. Meanwhile some of them, dressed in special traditional clothes, start to dance around, following a circle and making like a performance about the budist circle of life and death.
After this, another group of monks make another performance with masks and swords, emulating a battle between spirits.
Meanwhile thousands of people (lots of them tourists) watch the scene. I was there this year and it is really impressive!
This festival was very popular in Tibet, Ladakh and Sikkim (India), Mongolia, Nepal and Butan.
But nowdays is forbiden in Tibet because Chinese government doesn´t allow any type of Tibetan celebration.

My teacher said that this is not the layout of an entry to a blog.
I respect her opinion, but I don´t think so. ^_^
